1. CASUAL SPRING FASHION
The monochromatic trend has been going strong for the last couple of years and I'm still riding the train. It's a classic style and this look from Living Doll is great for those spring days that just aren't quite warm enough to go without a light jacket or sweater. Side note, we met the gals from Living Doll at Coachella and OH MY GOODNESS ARE THEY ADORABLE. Knowing the people behind the brand makes me love them even more. Check out their website for some amazing spring picks here.
2. SPRING BRUNCH/WEDDING
This is the kind of Spring look that would be great for a brunch or outdoor wedding (but don't wear it in white). Shorter heels and wedges have been popping up in the fashion world everywhere and I rocked that trend with these low wedge sandals. A red lip could make for a fun addition to this look as well.
3. SKATER LOOK
I generally have a pretty girly style but I've also got a lot of skateboarding, videogame-playing tomboy in me. I styled this look with that part of me in mind! Here at Sugar & Spice we encourage people to embrace ALL sides of themselves. 🙂 This casual outfit is great for a day of long boarding or hanging outside. It's flexible and the light sweater allows for needed warmth on early Spring days. Get more insight on this look on the Airwalk Women's Blog.
If you live in a place that offers a warm enough Spring for swimming, this is a bathing suit trend I'm all for. I like to wear more modest bathing suits because I'm not one of those gals that just lays by the pool all day. (although it looks like it in these photos haha) I like to run around, jump in the water and go for lake adventures. A swim style like this accommodates to my active lifestyle because it offers enough coverage to have a worry free swimming day and I personally think the high-waisted style is adorable. It's available in all sorts of fun colors and patterns. Click the link below to check it out!
5. DRESSY BUT COMFORTABLE
1. Dressing up doesn’t have to mean being uncomfortable. I wanted to dress nice but remain comfortable this day because I was doing a lot of walking and meeting people. So I put on red lipstick, a formal looking top and sealed the comfort deal by paring it all with some cozy sandals.
2. You don’t need an excessive amount of clothing to have a lot of good outfits. It’s all about knowing how to work with what you have. For example, you see the top I’m wearing here? Well buckle up folks because believe it or not, it is actually a dress I simply folded up. BAM, just by folding all of your tight dresses you expand your top collection without dropping a dollar. I frequently put skirts on over dresses to create the same effect.
Here's that monochromatic trend again! I am IN love with this skirt style and although I bought mine at a cute local shop (Katie Waltman Jewelry) I've seen similar one's out and about malls. This is the kind of outfit I'd wear to an event that calls for dressing up. Oh, and remember the trick I told you about in my previous outfit? Well her it is in action, I actually put this skirt over a tight bodycon dress because I thought the dress would make a cool, slimming top. hehe.
7. FESTIVAL FASHION
Spring time is when all the big music festivals kick off. As mentioned in my previous post, KayKay and I were fortunate enough to start our festival season by attending Coachella! It was crazy fun and after some intense people watching, I've decided that this look represents a lot of the style there. Floppy hats, loose dresses, flats (or boots) and denim were common occurrences. So if you plan on seeing some good outdoor live music this spring/summer, a look like this is a safe but successful bet!
