I just got back from good ole Nashville to visit some of my pals who moved there. It was amazing. And, it was so beautiful. It made me miss home.
But, then it got me thinking, what is home for me? I've felt "at home" in more than one place so it blurred the line a bit. I used to feel "at home" in TX, but LA has become my new home. With my pals gone, LA began to feel not like home anymore. And, being in Nashville made me feel like I was at home which made no sense. Then I realized, home isn't where you live. It's who you are, who you love...it's in your head.
"Never make your home in a place. Make a home for yourself inside your own head. You'll find what you need to furnish it - memory, friends you can trust, love of learning, and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey."
When I figured this out, I no longer felt out of place anywhere; I felt "at home" everywhere.
REMEMBER: With your home in your head, you will always feel at home wherever you go.
